If you go to cvs.com you can fill out a short survey about their Ready Fill Program. At the end you will receive a $5/25 coupon to be used in the store!

You can click on the survey on the image on the center of the screen that scrolls through a couple of different screens. It's the #1 screen and says "Ready Fill.....Get a $5 coupon just for testing your health IQ."

Once in the store, be sure to stop by the pharmacy and ask about the Ready Fill program. Just for asking about it you can receive a coupon booklet that has great coupons to use in the store (including two $4 off $20 purchase coupons!)

New CVS coupons came out today and they are yours for the asking at the pharmacy counter. Just ask about the Rapid Refill coupon booklet. There are $25 worth of coupons in it (including two $4/20 purchase coupons and a $3/12 eye care purchase.)

In today's ad they list TONS of free after ECB school supplies. Even if you don't need them, I'm sure a local school does, so please buy them to donate if you can't use them. These are all part of the 3 day sale. No ECBs will print for these after Tuesday.

Skippy Peanut Butter and Hellmans Mayo: Spend $10, get $5 ECB. Skippy is $2 and the mayo is $3. There are $1/2 coupons for both the peanut butter and the mayo in today's paper. Spend $8, get $5 in ECBs back, so you only end up spending $3 for 2 jars of peanut butter and 2 jars of mayo.

I just posted the information on the Food Lion deals found at Southern Savers, but decided I needed a separate post to plug her blog. I use Jenny's blog every week sometimes several times each week. I highly recommend taking a look around. It is a blog worth your visit. Ad information is clean and easy to understand. Links to pritables are right there on the Ad match ups.

If couponing is new to you and you find all the information about coupning overwhelming but want to reap the rewards, then just start small. You have read this blog and others and know that people are spending much less than you are on the same groceries. You know that it is working for others. Don't give up and give yourself the excuse that you could never do it. You can!
Begin to coupon slowly.
If you shop online check getcouponcodes.com and see if there is a coupon for the retailer you are shopping with.
When you run into the store to pick something up grab a flyer. Flip through it while you nurse a baby or sit outside a toddler's room to train them to stay in bed at night. Notice the items your family uses. If the price is lower than you normally pay for that item plan to pick up a few extras.
Buy a Sunday paper. Let your kids enjoy the comics. Make sure you pull out the coupon flyers before they end up in the recycle bin. If you don't have time to even open them, just find a pen or marker and write the date on the cover of each coupon flyer and det it aside until you have time. Pick a coupon site that you like. There are many sites out there. My favorites are Hot Coupon World (HCW), Slick Deals (SD) and A Full Cup (AFC). These sites have separate forums for many grocery retailers nationwide. Find the forum for a grocery store near you and read what deals people are finding, read about coupon matchups in the current weeks sale flyer. Each week I try to post a link to a resource for the current weeks sales for the stores I regularly shop in. These resources are someone else's blog. I don't have the time or energy to type up ads and locate coupons for match ups. I am so very glad these ladies do! I benefit every week from their hard work.

I didn't start out couponing at grocery stores. I began at CVS. I couldn't believe I could buy my family's H&B items for next to nothing, or get paid to buy it! I learned how to use coupons and CVS's Extra Care Bucks program to buy only the items on promotion and earn store credit each time I made a purchase. Once I had this store credit, I used it to buy the following weeks deal (whether it was shampoo or toothpaste) to pay for that item. But the new purchase also credited me store credit. Here is an example. I need toothpaste. It is on promotion at CVS for $1.99. They are also offering the customer $1.99 back in store credit when you purchase it. Two weeks ago there was a $1 off coupon in the Sunday coupon insert. You clip the coupon (Q) go to CVS scan your CVS card ring the toothpaste give them your Q, pay 99c plus tax for your toothpaste and they hand you your receipt. At the bottom of your receipt is a cash register tape (CRT) Extra Care Buck (ECB) for $1.99. Now you keep this $1.99 ECB to buy next week's "free" deodorant, etc. For more information on CVSing go to HCW, SD, or AFC (linked above) and go to the CVS forum. CVS Advisory Panel

Both 8isgreat and I are members of the CVS Advisory Panel. What that means is a couple of times a year CVS will email us asking up to participate in a survey. It could be about store layouts, a new product line they're thinking of, pharmacy experiences--all sorts of different things. In exchange for your time in doing these surveys you earn Extra Care Bucks! I did one recently and very shortly thereafter an extra $10 ECB printed at the end of my receipt!

Cereal Coupon Match-ups

This week at Target there is a gift card promotion. Buy 5 select Special K items and get a $5 gift card.
The cereal is $2.39. There are $1/1 blinkie coupons at some grocery stores, but there are also printable coupons for $1/1 Special K cereal at coupons.com (see sidebar for link) and on the Kelloggs site. Between those two sites you will be able to print four $1 coupons per computer.

5 boxes of cereal x $2.39 = $11.95
-5 $1/1 coupons

$6.95 and earn a $5 gift card. (so really $1.95 cost for 5 boxes of cereal.) If you have multiples of the coupons you can "roll" this gift card into the next order.

Also found on the coupons.com and Kelloggs site are coupons for $1/1 on other cereals. I went ahead and printed all of them twice (for a total of 4 coupons per type of cereal) because it's a safe bet that there will be upcoming deals on these cereals and you want to print them while you can.

You'll be able to use the Raisin Bran coupons you print out at Safeway this week. Select cereals (Raisin Bran is one) are $1.99 this week. With the coupon it makes it just $.99 a box.

Starting Sunday at CVS select Kelloggs cereals (Mini Wheats, Special K, Frosted Flakes) will be $3/$10 and you earn $5 ECBs. After coupons and ECBs each box will cost $.67.

Definitely make sure you set your printer setting to "fast" or "economy"--espeically when printing from the Kelloggs site. Each coupon prints out on it's own page and has additional text and pictures below.

This week provides a good opportunity to learn about "rolling ECBs", where you use the ECB earned in 1 transaction on a subsequent transaction.

I mentioned in a previous post these deals:

My CVS run 4/6/09

Here's my run...

My only diapered child wears size 5, so I could only take advantage of the $3/1 Huggies Qs not the $5/1.
I am 41 and wanted the Olay Regenerist night cream ($18) which is part of the "buy $25 in Olay and get $10 in ECBs." I bought the Olay ribbons ($7) to bring my Olay total to $25 exactly.
I also took advantage of the free Easter grass and baskets, and the free skintimates shave gel. The only other ECB deal I took advantage of was the Colgate Max Fresh for $2.99 get $2.00 in ECBs.
I rounded out my $75 purchase (I had a $15 off a $75 purchase CVS coupon) with 2 Schick Intuition refills (these are BOGO this week) and 2 Russel Stover solid chocolate bunnies on sale 2/$3 (2 down 6 more to get to fill my baskets this Sunday).

Huggies craziness!

In looking at my receipts I've bought 55 bags of Huggies since March when the Huggies internet printables came out. With a 15 month old and a baby on the way we will be well set with diapers for a good long time! (And thank you to my husband who has built new shelves in the tops of our closets to store them all!)

Thought I'd take a picture of today's diaper run from CVS.



10 bags of Huggies at $10 each = $100
used a $20/100 cvs coupon that printed out at the coupon scanner in the store
used 10 $5 Huggies IP coupons
used $15.50 in ECBs (extra care bucks)
$14.50 on a cvs gift card I got by filling my daughter's allergy medication (got a $25 gc for filling her prescription)
earned $10 ECBs

so I put $14.50 on gift card, got $10 in ECBs back and will get a $7.50 check back from caregivers marketplace when I mail in the Huggies receipts.

This is a good example of how to make "rolling ECBs" and combining store and manufacturer coupons work for you. I got 10 bags of diapers without paying a single cent out of pocket (by using the ECBs and the gift card I got for the medicine my daughter needed anyway) AND I will be getting a check of $7.50 in the mail from Caregivers Marketplace. In essence, I turned ECBs and free gift cards into cash while getting diapers.

If you do the math, between ECBs and gift card I "spent" a total of $20 - $7.50 (caregivers rebate) = $12.50 for 10 packs of diapers = $1.25 a pack of diaper. Not too shabby.

A year and a half ago I never would have thought this was possible. But I think this shows that the longer you play this CVS game and learn how best to use coupons and store offers, amazing savings are possible!

Sometimes people are looking to trade for other IPs, insert coupons, stamps or even small amounts of Paypal funds. You can check out the person's trader rating too to see if it's someone you'd want to trade with.
